Yup, yup and yup. At now 65+ I can look back and see that just about everything (including the unspeakable cruelty and just plain bad-humanism of this administration makes me want to scream, hourly sometimes) you've been going through has happened to me since 60.... (sigh).
But/so we keep going and keep hanging out with like-minded folks and doing things that make us happy and/or make a different in the lives that we care about.
Not sure I should mention it here, but reading Nobody's Girl was a bit cathartic/horrible and yet seemed a must-read to understand what some of our sisters in this world have been or are going through. We have GOT to crack the misogyny lock on our society!
Thanks for your comment, Renay! I won't be able to read that book. It represents much of my caseload from back in the day and I'm still processing the secondary trauma from decades of compartmentalization. Can't wait to see you in a couple weeks doing one of our favorite things! <3
You have my empathy, Debbie. I could give my own version but I will just say that my pill organizers have AM and PM compartments, and I have tiny ziplocks with AM and PM supplements. A tens unit and two kinds of heating pads, ice packs, and a body worker, acupuncturist, and chiropractor I am deeply grateful for. The psychological toll of the cruelty acted out upon people and our environment is similar for me, but I’m grateful my therapist is a good fit. Sigh. We all have to find what works best for us and be as kind to each other as we can. Here’s a hug. Hang in there. 💕
My 76th year has had many health challenges. Mostly everything I'd worried about has tested negative, though not everything. I worry about the increases I'm seeing associated with health care costs. And so it goes.
I’m glad for the negative tests, but sorry you’ve been stressed about these things. You’ve always been such an inspiration to me. Sending love and hugs. 💕
When I do my supplements and medications every few weeks, it’s like playing Mancala. 😂🤣😂🤣
I have tried so many different things (supplements/treatments) and continue to take dozens of them. Aging is not for the faint of heart. Sleep issues, hip pain, weight gain, stress, compassion fatigue, and anger, and disgust at what the government has done at home and around the world. I’m also working full-time in a stressful job which keeps me on my toes. I’m happy for you to be retired. That’s for sure.
I am glad to have a strong spiritual life which sustains me … As well as solid family ties…and different forms of community online and in person so that is good. I also live in a place where I can exercise 365 days a year, which is a huge blessing.
Keep up the good work and take it day by day, Cousin. I’m proud of you for giving up the donuts and the Manhattans!
Love you cousin.
And try to laugh when you can even when it’s hard.

Thanks for saying stuff out loud, Debbie.

All I have to say is mid 2025 to now has been a shitshow. But, I'm still going and doing what I can. You go, girl!!
You've always been an inspiration to me!!! <3
That is so sweet! Thank you!

Awwww thank you so much! What is also working well for me is sticking close to people like you! <3
Good for you for utilizing so many modalities.
