I’m going to start right off by telling you that before last week, I hadn’t thought much about Tina Turner. As a card-carrying member of Gen X, I remember her hits from the 80s. My close friends will tell you that my musical taste is all over the place and rarely involves deep cuts and learning all the words. But I can hear “What’s Love Got to Do With It” and be transported back to a super fun time in my life. I also was vaguely familiar with the first part of her life, the horrific, awful part that involved her marriage and musical partnership with the monster Ike Turner.
I love the way you have written about her and brought up parts of her life we might not be familiar with. Nice tribute!
